The quote makes me think. I think he is referring to those things we discover that could never be part of our planning, sometimes they are the best parts of a journey. And I love the photo, Rabat was such an amazing place.

Great picture. I agree with the quote – it’s about the unexpected, the things you can never anticipate, not necessarily about the place but about your own interior landscape.

That quote is so true. My work in Saudi Arabia I found an abandoned date plantation with a well (similar to what one might have found in ancient Israel) and the water was almost crystal clear and contained fish and turtles. Stunning to find that in the desert. Also, a very old Turkish (Ottoman Empire age) fort out in the middle of nowhere and I could explore it with no one even remotely around to wonder what I was doing there. Both were very cool and secret destinations that I still fondly recall.

Great quote. I’ve gotten better over the years to leave some wiggle room in our itineraries as you never know what’ll pique your interest sometimes. There’s also so many things outside of our control and you learn to just go with the flow.

Isn’t that the best part of any trip is finding those places or learning those things that you never could have expected at the beginning 🙂 Great quote!

I read and reread this quote multiple times… “All journeys have secret destinations…” Wow, so elegantly written. Thank you for sharing this.
