Yes, that can certainly be the case.

Agreed; travel can easily take one out of their comfort zone.

We have traveled on some pretty tight budgets in our time, and enjoyed it so much. Travel does not have to include a jet plane or a cruise, some journeys are as simple as a long walk in a different part of town, that counts as travel in my book.
We have also experienced so many people who are traveling, but avoid anything different in language, culture, and food. So sad to miss all of the wonder of the world.

Paulo Coelho also walked the Camino in Spain (the full 500+ miles in 1986) … so I understand why he would say this 🙂.

I didn’t know that. He’s one of my favorite authors. Thanks Corna!

And it doesn’t even have to be some jaw-dropping adventure full of derring-do! Just driving in France and speaking the language are acts of courage. 🙂

isn’t that the truth- it takes courage to step out of the comfort zone and go somewhere different and maneuver through what you don’t know

I couldn’t agree more. We’ve travelled without much money, which is one of the reasons why we got really into camping . And even now when we’re both working and making decent money, we still like to save money where we can while travelling…. so that we can travel more 🙂

Traveling on a budget can be a fun adventure; one finds lots of great places off the beaten path that way. Thanks for your comment!
