I love Normandie (my paternal ancestors are Norman). That quote is very apropos.

I don’t think Babs ever visited South Africa, because she would never have said anything like that if she had driven here on some of our pothole roads! But I like your photo – it might make a pothole road worthwhile when the journey includes Normandie’s beauty!

Oh my; sounds like it slow going at times, which I think you have mentioned in your posts. Thanks Corna! I’m glad you like the photo!

That’s a truly wonderful quote! When travelling for any length, you can practically guarantee that something will go wrong. You may miss a bus, get up late, get ill, or maybe even have something stolen. You learn to deal with it. You move on and carry on enjoying your adventure. You learn to laugh at the mishaps and put them down as a learning experience. Thanks for sharing, and have a wonderful day 🙂 Aiva xx

Well, at least till your axle breaks on a big one. Lol
BYW, we got your post card with the special stamp. THANK YOU!! Not sure if you know but I was a stamp collector in my youth. I picked a good time to sell it though (when I was in college) and it financed a trip back to Ohio to see the relatives. Lest you think that it was a lot of money, it basically bought gas there and back and that was about all the money Rosanne and I had. In retrospect maybe not the wisest choice (getting to Ohio and back with only enough money for gas, I mean) but we made it and made it back there in 56 straight hours without stopping and very little sleep.

Lol; good point Dave. I have a vague memory about your stamp collection, but I haven’t heard your story about the sale of it financing a trip east. Good story; thanks for sharing!

That might depend on how big that pothole is because it may have you stuck for a minute and then you can really have time to appreciate that patch of road 🙂
