I have one more post from our Europe trip to share, but this week I’m taking a break from that to show some of the stunning autumn scenes we’ve enjoyed around Oregon and beyond.

Autumn is a glorious time of year with its vast array of vibrant and brilliant shades of red, yellow, gold and orange. The fallen leaves become delicately diaphanous after falling from their lofty canopy above, settling on the ground below, and disintegrating into the earth. It truly is a magical time of year.

It was a beautiful bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it. Diana Gabaldon, Outlander

The leaves fall, the wind blows and the farm country slowly changes from the summer cottons into its winter wools. Henry Beston

There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn leaves. Joe L. Wheeler

Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. Unknown

I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion. Henry David Thoreau

TheTravelsketcher has enjoyed lots of sketching time.

I hope you enjoyed these autumn colors and find some hope as the seasons change.
All the best,
Tricia
