The story of Malta’s survival in WWII is an amazing read. Malta was relentlessly bombed by the Nazis and was largely in ruins and hanging by a thread when the Allies mounted a convoy to resupply the island. The story of that convoy’s run is also a fascinating read. Beauty combined with stunning scenery combined with a riveting history makes it a Must Visit destination in my mind.
