I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilization, and to find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flint. Robert Louis Stevenson

Gorgeous picture and that quote is very apt. 😊

I love Robert Louis Stevenson and his quotes regarding travel. On my last trip to Edinburgh, I went to the Writer’s Museum and was delighted to learn a bit more about the fascinated writer. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

Your photo is gorgeous. And I really do enjoy your weekly quote sharing, but this one is pretty heavy….My only problem is that at this moment civilization does not feel like a feather-bed; more like a really well used mattress that I would like to exchange……

You’re right Shirley, spot on. The smaller the world, the more used the mattress; yikes. It’s a heavy one, but thought provoking.

Couldn’t agree more – those of us with wanderlust in our bones sometimes just need to ‘go’

We certainly do.

Agree 100%. Even if we only drive to a beach near us on a Saturday morning where we haven’t been before … we “travel for travel’s sake”! Stunning photo Tricia.
