That is a gorgeous photo and Bourdain’s comment is very apt. He and his sharp wit and observations are missed.

Thanks so much, Lynette. He was often surprisingly poignant given his gritty personality.

What a stunning sky! The scene is very like parts of Cornwall and Australia. And yes, travel is very much an education.

Beautiful photos of nature’s riches – methinks Heyjude may have meant The Twelve Apostles, an unbelievable rock formation off the Victorian coastline west of Melbourne, Australia . . . rather similar to your Oregon photos . . .

I learnt somuch travelling that I would never have learnt in a classroom. People, despite what “they” might” tell you are all basically the same, wit the same needs, wants, and aspirations…

Wow, that’s a beautiful photo – love the sky! And I absolutely agree with the quote (one learns so much when travelling — and not only from the new places you visit, but also of people).

That’s so true because travel’s true value lies in its ability to broaden perspectives, foster growth, and enrich one’s understanding of the world, rather than being a simple break or reward from work. You know, I have always loved Bourdain’s quotes as his words encourage exploration and empathy. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

Exactly. I have mentioned this often, but there was a poignant tenderness under his gritty exterior. Thanks again, Aiva.
