No Kings! March, 2026

Last Saturday, March 28, 2026 was the third No Kings protest here in the US which drew millions of citizens from across the country, and others in countries around the globe. In fact, there was even a small rally in Antarctica, meaning that there were protests on every continent around the globe. Click here to read that article.

Newsweek photo. It’s hard to see, but they have written “No Kings” in the snow.

The first No Kings protest was held on June 14th, 2025 in response to Trump’s military parade in Washington DC, which coincided with his birthday. It was obvious to all that Trump wants to be considered a king; something the founders of our country strongly rejected; thus the response from many grassroots organizations.

The second rally was held on October 18, 2025. Click here to read my post about this event. Currently, we are not only protesting Donald Trump’s cruel, draconian, authoritarian, antidemocratic policies, we are also protesting his war in Iran.

The June No Kings protest drew over 5 million US citizens in 2,100 cities and towns across our country, and the second one in October drew even more; 7 million people! The rally this past Saturday was one of the largest protests ever in the US, with an estimated of 8 – 9 million people attending. WOW!

We marched and chanted with this huge group for a while, then stood on a street corner to take photos. It was a peaceful event with a strong sense of camaraderie and unity. There were so many creative and clever signs as shown below.

TheTravelsketcher and I were proud to participate in the protest. It was an entirely peaceful and uplifting event. We chatted with so many wonderful people, all equally concerned about the future of our democracy, and so much more, as is shown in the signs.

You may have heard about protestors in Portland and across the country, wearing inflatable costumes. This is known as Operation Inflation and originated here in Portland. Their goal is to wear ridiculously silly costumes to deflate the tension between ICE agents and protestors. We saw just a few costumed protestors at this rally.

TheTravelsketcher documented the rally with a sketch; check out his recent post for more information.

These are unprecedented times for the USA. It’s frightening, stressful and a horrifying time for those of us who care about our democracy.

We will continue to resist every step of the way and hope and pray that our country will survive this horrible chapter.

When the people fear the government there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty. Thomas Jefferson

Resist!!

  1. M and I were discussing Trump’s recent pronouncements and believe that he’s worsening. We think that his narcissism/psychopathy is growing and probably exacerbated by the beginnings of dementia. What a mess and what a danger he and his entire toady government is to the world. Such an unhinged madman with access to nuclear launch codes? It’s sometimes too much to even think about.

Keep up the pressure on him, Tricia! You have so very much support from around the world!!

I am scrolling back-and-forth really appreciating yours as you, more than many, have somehow had the ability to show us about the man-across-the-spectrum involvement of EVERYONE, man, woman, child and beast, to protest about what cannot be described and cannot be accepted . . . shall repost to friends

  3. Stay strong and keep fighting Tricia. He really is destroying the entire world with his actions. I didn’t think his sidekicks would stay with his idiotic tactics for this long, but turns out there is more than one idiot at the top. Let’s hope US votes for a change in the fall. Maggie

  4. It’s awesome to see the No Kings Protest grow with each one, even extending to Antarctica!!! We had a notable one here in LA last weekend, and until change happens, we will continue to rally and fight for our rights in this country. Thanks for sharing, Tricia, and have a great week ahead!

  5. How can it possibly be that one single malignant narcissistic sociopath was elected as president of the United States, who then proceeded to turn the entire world on fire. How can that possibly be…?!?!
