If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant. Anne Bradstreet

  1. This is so true. I grew up in Winnipeg and while we were talking about summer, we used to say that we suffered through winter so we could enjoy our hot summers. Your picture is perfect to show pretty pink tulips against a stark castle ruin. Maggie

  2. Such a beautiful scene. (I am rather fond of tulips and ruins). I would say that if there was no winter would we appreciate spring as much as we do especially in the northern hemisphere?

  3. Living in my part of Australia (100km S of Sydney) I very, very much agree with the Bradstreet quote. Oh, we have the ‘four seasons’ and many summer days of 35-40+C temperatures . . . but it is a rare morning here with even -1C for an hour we probably still spend in bed and we do laugh when someone from ‘up north’ tells us of their ‘warm’ day of 16-18C!!! Gad – that means full winter gear here 🙂 ! Thus we can grow my favourite tulips and daffodils in very few parts of the country and the not very green eucalypt or gum holds sway . . . and perchance one sometimes is just a wee bit envious !!!

  4. That’s a beautiful quote, my friend. Just like winter going into spring, adversity helps us grow and become our best selves. Don’t give up, as you can learn, grow, and bloom from the challenges you face and become a better version of yourself Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx
